GR8 Employee Spotlight: Get to Know Dan Mayo

Get to know Senior Demand Generation Manager Dan Mayo, who plays a critical role on the Marketing team at GR8 People.

What’s your role at GR8 People?

I’m the senior demand generation manager on the marketing team at GR8 People. My role involves managing the lists of prospects we have in our marketing automation solution to help us create meaningful connections with the talent acquisition community, generate more pipeline, and empower our sales team to connect with future customers. Part of my job is to send out email communications to promote our product, content, thought leadership pieces, awards and more. I also spend a great deal of time researching, highlighting, and alerting our sales team to prospects that appear to be a good fit for our talent platform at the right time in their buying cycle. It’s crucial that we understand the buyer intent and pain points of potential prospects early in the process. I love that part of my job enables our team to put their best foot forward with conversations that center on the perfect solutions that GR8 People can offer.

What’s your favorite thing about working at GR8 People?

I love how everyone is always open to new ideas. Marketing is all about testing and perfecting new strategies and monitoring how they resonate with our audience. I thrive in a fast-paced environment and that is, without a doubt, how we operate at GR8 People. We all do a really good job of bringing ideas to the table and pushing how we can approach strategy and communications, both internally and externally. Everyone is always encouraged to share their ideas and plenty of GR8 ones get implemented to help propel us forward. We all have each other’s backs and I truly value the teamwork.

What is something about you that would surprise people?

I’m 6’7″ and I can dunk a basketball! I love to play sports, specifically tennis, golf and yes, basketball.

Something else that might surprise people about me is that I really want to learn how to play the guitar. I played it briefly in middle school but I’d like to get back into it. I love music and I think it would be cool to learn how to play an instrument really well.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

As I mentioned before, I enjoy playing sports with friends, but I also love boardgames. My idea of a GR8 Saturday night is honestly sitting around with friends and family hanging out and trying fun boardgames. I also love the beach, whether it’s sitting with my toes in the sand or riding the waves. I also like to travel when I can. A favorite place I’ve traveled to was Provincetown, Massachusetts. It’s an awesome destination because there’s so much to do there. The town has a small city feel with amazing pastries and desserts, there are tons of bike trails around, and of course, the beach!
