Get to know Front End Developer Courtney Sadusky, who plays a critical role on the Development team at GR8 People.
What’s your role at GR8 People?
I’m a front end software developer at GR8 People. My role on the development team is to work on new product features and make updates to our application to continuously make the GR8 People platform the most powerful recruiting software on the market today.
I also have the opportunity to collaborate with the product and design teams to create and update functional and attractive features within our application to keep pace with customer needs and ensure a GR8 user experience. The job of a front end developer is an important one. We’re responsible for everything a user sees, touches, clicks on, and uses within the app. It takes a certain level of creativity and technical expertise to translate design wireframes into fully usable interfaces. I really enjoy that the work I do plays an integral part in the creation and evolution of the GR8 People platform.
What’s your favorite thing about working at GR8 People?
First and foremost, I love the people I work with and the company culture. It’s a true team-driven environment and I like getting to collaborate with my teammates and members of other teams to produce GR8 outcomes.
Second, I love that I get to work on new and exciting things all the time. It’s so much fun getting to work on different challenges together and figuring out how to solve for them as a team. It’s very satisfying to work hard at creating something new and ultimately reconvening as a team and saying “hey, look what we made together!” and seeing our work come to life with our customers’ improved outcomes. I’m always so excited to see what we’re going to do next.
What is something about you that would surprise people?
It always surprises people when I tell them that I was a Resident Assistant in college. I used to do a lot of planning and events and I don’t do much of that now, but it was such a fun job (and it came with a lot of perks like free housing!).
Something else that might surprise people about me is that I really want to learn how to sew. I consider myself very crafty and that’s one thing I’ve never learned how to do. I’d love to be able to make and repair my own clothes.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
As I mentioned before, I really enjoy doing crafts. I have a Cricut and around the holidays, I make a lot of cookie boxes and cards. I also like remodeling and picking out design elements for my house. I like the challenge of turning an ordinary space into something beautiful.
Though I love doing crafts, what I really enjoy doing most is having friends and family over to hang out and enjoy each other’s company. One of my favorite places is the beach, and my family has a boat in Wildwood, NJ where we spend most of our weekends in the summertime. It’s sort of like camping, but on the water! We all stay on the boat together for the weekend and it’s always a lot of fun.
