Get to know Quality Assurance Analyst Jeanine Mahony, who plays a critical role in our platform’s successful evolution.
What’s your role at GR8 People?
I’m a quality assurance analyst at GR8 People. My focus is on planning and executing test plans and test scripts to ensure exceptional quality of the GR8 People platform and new product features. I work closely with our development team to perform and validate test cases based on project requirements. Throughout testing, it’s my responsibility to document and recommend any changes based on certain guidelines, criteria and overall functionality of the particular feature I’m testing.
My goal is to ensure that the end product goes above and beyond quality standards, is fully functional and (of course) user-friendly. We strive to exceed customer expectations in everything we do, and that means holding myself accountable for the results of anything I test and sign off on. What’s your favorite thing about working at GR8 People?
That’s easy, the people! For my role to shine at its gr8est potential, it’s an absolute must that I communicate and collaborate with our development, product and support teams. That is exactly how we operate at GR8 People, and I could not be more gr8ful for that. I enjoy getting to work with different teams and feeling supported from all angles.
When I think about my professional career growth over the years, I appreciate the opportunities I’ve had to learn and grow within the GR8 People team. I love that there is never any judgement and I always feel comfortable asking questions. I truly believe that my skill set has grown tremendously working with this team. One thing that my teammates and I are working on is improving our automated test scripts—it’s something I’ve always wanted to learn how to do and I plan on getting really good at it.
What is something about you that would surprise people?
I had a red wedding dress. Most people that know me will tell you that I typically don’t enjoy being in the spotlight, but I went big on that special day and I absolutely loved it. I got married in St. Lucia and to this day it’s my favorite place that I’ve ever traveled.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to coach sports teams, and if I’m not coaching them I like to watch them. My kids are very active in all kinds of sporting activities: softball, baseball, football and basketball to name a few. I really enjoy coaching their softball and basketball teams, mostly because I think it’s important to teach kids what it means to be a part of a team at a young age. It’s something that will always be relevant in their lives, and I hope they have the opportunity to be a part of exceptionally GR8 teams, like I am, in their professional careers.
Another favorite hobby (which may sound simple, but I really love it) is sitting down and drinking coffee with someone. There’s nothing better than a good cup of coffee and meaningful conversation.
